Covis: ISO 9001:2015

Between the end of August and the beginning of September Covis completed the audit activities and has successfully achieved the transition to the new ISO 9001: 2015 certification, one of the most important standards for quality management systems.

What changes from the previous ISO 9001: 2008?
Here are the enhancements of the new revision.

High level structure
The new edition follows a “high level” structure, which improves compatibility and integration with other certifications. Eventually ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001  have now the same paragraphs and it is much easier to build an integrated system for quality – environment – safety.

Risk Based Thinking
The new approach provides for the identification of risks in business processes and appropriate measures to be taken to manage them and to find possible solutions. Its primarily related to the risks that may impact on the conformity of the product or of the service, but given the strong integration with ISO 14001 and 45001, they can also be considered in terms of environment, safety, ethical scandals, etc.

Greater flexibility in system documentation
Bureaucratic simplification for organizations, which are free to choose the depth and detail they intend to use for their written documentation.

Immediate applicability for the tertiary sector
Each process must be defined and include comprehensive specifications for measuring the performance parameters and for the definition of roles and responsibilities. In particular, this regulation provides a more precise and detailed attention to the processes, products and services provided by external operators.

Covis is constantly updated in order to be reliable and always competitive and to offer the best services honoring its commitments to safety, environment and quality.
