waterjet cutting

Covistone and Waterjet technology

At present, Waterjet technology is gaining a lot of popularity in many industrial sectors.

HOW DOES WATERJET WORK?

This type of cutting uses a very high pressure jet (up to 7,000 bar) with either pure water and abrasives.
By using pure water, it is possible to cut soft materials such as foams or elastic materials, while with the addition of abrasive sand can be made on harder materials such as steel, glass, porcelain stoneware, but also marble, aluminum, stainless steel and titanium.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Waterjet technology has many advantages:
– the cutting does not overheat, consequently the material does not alter;
– it allows to avoid cracks or bends, as well as to greatly reduce the waste material produced;
– guarantees considerable flexibility, as it allows to cut surfaces of different thickness and to perform different types of cutting at the same time;
– does not produce polluting waste or hazardous fumes;
– The machines are highly technological and easy to program, making it an even more accessible and convenient technology.

IS THE MACHINE SUBJECT TO WEAR?

Affirmative. Waterjet cutting machines are subject to wear because they are exposed to high water pressure and to abrasives.
For this reason, Covistone meets the needs of its customers and, in addition to the marketing of garnet abrasive sand, provides spare parts including focusing tubes, orifices, high pressure pipes and fittings, as well as service and maintenance on machinery.
