BARZAN

The Barzan project, owned by Ras Gas (Joint Venture between Qatar Gas and Exxonmobil) is a set of platforms for the production of liquefied gas conveyed to production lines via a submarine pipeline. The high H2S content over time has damaged the pipelines in several places and Covis has supported one of its main customers in the construction of 4 Clamps and 2 GLCs for repair. In particular Covis was responsible for managing the procurement of forgings, made from 100 ton ingots, the qualification of the material production processes, the cladding (1 ton of Inconel 625 for each piece), the precision machining, the epoxy coating and assembly support, completing the work in a record time of 9 months.
